Removing a package: deactivate, hide or delete

The three ways to take a session package off sale, what each one does to packages clients have already bought, and when to use which.

Last updated

A session package (under Manage, then Packages) can be taken off sale in three ways: hide it, deactivate it, or delete it. They differ in where the package still shows up and whether you can bring it back. None of them touch packages your clients have already bought: those keep their remaining sessions and stay usable when you book those clients in.

Which one do you need?

  • Hide a package you still want to sell, but only to people you send the link to.
  • Deactivate a package you want to pause and may bring back, or one that clients still hold sessions on.
  • Delete a package you created by mistake, or one nobody is using any more.

Hiding a package

Open the package and use the Visibility control at the top of the page. Hidden, direct link only keeps the package off your public Packages tab but still lets anyone with its booking link buy it. Hidden takes it off the public page entirely. Save with the bar that appears at the bottom.

Deactivating a package

Open the package and switch Active off at the top of the page, then save. An inactive package is off your public page and the Sell package button is disabled, but it stays in your Packages list with an Inactive badge so you can switch it back on later.

Deleting a package

  1. 1

    Open the package

Go to Manage, then Packages, and click the package you want to remove.
  2. 2

    Choose Delete package

Click the three-dot menu at the top right of the page and choose Delete package.
  3. 3

    Confirm

Read the confirmation and click Delete package. You are taken back to your Packages list, and the package is gone from it and from your public page.

Clients with unused sessions block deletion

If any client still holds unused, unexpired sessions on the package, Booklink refuses to delete it and tells you how many clients are affected. Either cancel those packages one by one from the Sold tab (row menu, then Cancel package), or deactivate the package instead. Packages that are fully used, expired or cancelled do not block deletion.

Sold packages survive deletion

Deleting the template never removes sessions a client has paid for. Their package still shows on their client page and is still offered when you book them in. If you also want those gone, cancel each sold package first.

Deleted packages stay readable

Opening a sold package from a client's page still takes you to the original package, marked Deleted, so you can see what was sold and to whom. It cannot be edited or sold again.
